The learning is still taking place up until the last moments that we spend in the room. Ms. Tipton assessed the students on verb tenses, synonyms, punctuation marks, and reading comprehension.
Ms. Kelly assisted us with our Dojo Store. The students used their accumulated points to purchase items from the store. It was an excellent way to practice our math skills too. I don't even think the students realized that they were learning.
Make sure and ask your child to tell you how many points they earned in May. Have them explain and show you their purchases.
The students enjoyed their "painting" time.
Each child selected their specific pieces for their writing portfolio. We completed the table of contents. The writing folders will be shared with families during our student led conferences on Thursday at 10:45.
The students chose one piece of writing for each category. Many of the students had a difficult time deciding the "just right" piece to place in each area. We worked hard on the writing process this year.
Hopefully each student brought home a reminder about the student led conferences. We hope to have every family in attendance. The students are eager to share their accomplishments .
Take a look at our field day fun. Make sure you have your child explain the various stations that they visited.
We had a visitor from the Paul Sawyer library. She explained the summer reading program that is available at no cost to the students.
We want to send a special thanks to Mr. Gannone for assisting the students with field day. He also got a little wet preparing our water balloons.
The Team Tipton stations consisted on an egg toss, over under relay ball game, scooter relays, blow a bubble, and a water balloon toss.
We completed the last chapter of Charlotte's Web. The students are all proud of their reading accomplishments.
We ended the day with a special treat. Every team member had an opportunity to toss a water balloon at Ms. Tipton! I was a little wet by the end of the day.
