Students enjoyed " write the room" to help them prepare for the upcoming spelling assessment.

We are working on how to read with "voice".  The students enjoying acting out the fairy tales and reading passages as though they are the characters in the stories.

As we approach the end of the current grading period, Ms. Prather and Ms. Tipton are assessing individual reading achievement.
Each student made a Grouchy Lady Bug Clock and wrote a time word problem.  Stop by and view our newest display of our work in the hallway.
Adam's dog Twinky visited the school today.   Twinky is a rescue dog and a wonderful addition to their family.

We learned how to use "Word" today.   They students all typed their word problem that are now displayed in the hallway.  Students are learning how to use editing tools to correct grammatical errors, spelling and punctuation  errors.
A huge thanks to Ms. Collins and Ms. Leslie for helping conference with individual students.
Delk and Ms. Tipton are making his final corrections on his word problem.

Today was our Store for the gold coins that your child earned during the month of March.  Ask your child what they chose to purchase.   Several students are saving all or a portion of their coins to make future purchases.

We read Three Billy Goat's Gruff today, and the students orally told a "twisted " ending of the fairy tale to a friend. After Spring Break the students will be writing their own fairy tales.

We reviewed telling time to the hour, half-hour and and quarter hour prior to our clock and calendar assessment.

The "Arty Party" was amazing.  Please ask your child to explain the various centers that they visited today.  If you see Mrs. Lester, please thank her for planning this special event for our school.

Enjoy Spring Break!!!!!

Power Point Presentations

A huge thank you to all the family members that stopped by this morning to view our power point research projects.  The students were all very proud of getting an opportunity to present to you.

Today we took our third quarter report card assessments.  We will use this assessment as one of the methods of determining if individual children have mastered the standards taught this grading period.   These assessments will be available for parents to view during upcoming conferences.

Everyone in our class was really concentrating on doing their best.  We spread out around the room, so we wouldn't have any distractions.

We had our author celebration during snack today.  Each child got to pick one sweat treat and one fruit.  It was a well deserved treat for all their hard work.

Ms. Kelley is one of the ESL teachers that works with the students from our room.
Ms. Noah is the other ESL instructor.  They both do amazing work with our English as a Second Language Learners.
We painted a reflection from "Jack and the Wonder Bean".  After painting the students had a written reflection portion to the lesson. They focused their writing on 3 technical elements from the play, and how one character used "voice" to make their character come to life.

A huge thank you to Ms. Stewart, Ms. Fosson and Ms. Ryan for chaperoning our field trip to the LCT.  I hope that you enjoyed the play.
