Dec. 10th Amazing Day!!!

It was simply an amazing day today!  All the students were on their best behavior and we where able to accomplish  a lot academically.  Make sure you praise your child for their behavior.  Ask them about Sparkle and how he we missing for part of the day.  He returned after lunch.

We are continuing to work on phoneme segmentation of the i_e spelling words.  The students enjoy using the stretchy bands to make each sound that is heard in the words.
Please remember that you can use compass learning over the holidays.  It is a great way to increase your child's individual skill knowledge.

We used our new pencils to keep a steady beat to today's whole group reading activity. We enjoyed reading and singing "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas."

We have a special visitor that visits the children during the day. He only sits on desks of students that are on task and trying their best.

The students made a poinsettia.  We learned the legend of the Poinsettia and holiday traditions of Mexico.

Students played a subtraction game in pairs.  We used spinners and dice to add to  our subtraction knowledge.

Don't forget that the Holiday Tradition Homework is due on Friday.  Each student will be given the opportunity to share their holiday tradition with their peers.

Code word to whisper to Ms. Tipton:    Sparkle
