Happy St. Patrick's Day

Kona ice is tomorrow.  March 18th. The cost is $3.00.   This is not required, but if you want your child to participate make sure they bring the money tomorrow.
Mikeih was Mrs. Nelson's assistant during Library on Monday.  Please help your child remember to return their books each Monday.  Every student is allowed to check out 2 books each week.  I assist students in finding books of interest and on their reading level.
Ask your child about our  "pie graphing" activities.    We graphed our favorite foods and colors.

Cameron Davenport shared a trophy that he received from Karate.  Remember that students are encouraged to share their accomplishments with the class. They do not have to wait until the end of the month.  Share day is the last Friday of every month, but they can always share trophies, metals, and awards prior to share day.
Ms. Tipton planned a lot of fun lessons about St. Patrick's Day.

Layton Morgan is the student of the week.

We are learning how to look back at the text to answer comprehension questions.  We are highlighting and underlining the answers to the questions.  This is a strategy to help the students learn how to answer questions using complete sentences and accurate spellings.

We learned a catchy Leprechaun song today.  In first grade we need have number sense up to 120.  We counted by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's today.

Make sure you stop by and check out our hallway displays. The students enjoy having their work displayed for others to see what we are doing in our room.

Mr. Counts visited our room today.  His lesson focus was on friendship skills.
