Team Meeting Friday
Our cause and effect assessment will take place on Monday. This is the book that the students will use to complete the assessment.
We work on the seven habits on a regular basis. The students are role playing ways to express their differences in a respectful manner.
We are now earning gold coins. Students will trade the coins for reward on St. Patrick's day.
Ms. Tipton is working with a group of students on sight words. Please continue your practice at home too. It is very important that every student exit first grade being able to read the entire kindergarten and first grade sight word list.
We are working on present tense action words. Jumping
Running
And then the students completed an exist slip to assess their knowledge of the skill.
We really enjoyed our Pinata Dojo reward. Every student had an opportunity to take a swing and receive some goodies. The amount of "treats" that they gathered had a direct correlation with the number of Dojos that they earned up to date. All the treats are coming home today. A huge thank you to the families that donated items to help this activity take place. Not only was it a cultural lesson, it was FUN!!
Mr. Counts joined in the fun and took the final swings. We want to thank him for taking time to join our fun.
Please note that the pinata also had toy rewards. You child might be bringing home some small prizes.
The students stopped by Mr. Lee's office to show him all the goodies that they earned.
The Franklin County Choir stopped by and taught us lots of musical elements. We want to thank them for sharing with us.
We ended our Dojo reward with a Solid, liquid and a gas example. Ask your child about the exit slip that they completed.
