Pumpkins Everywhere

Look at the 5 students that whispered the error in last nights blog.  The blog is a wonderful way to know that we are doing on a daily basis in Team Tipton!

Here is today's literature club book.  Our I can statement: " I can tell the plot of the story using BME - beginning, middle  and end.
Ask your child to tell you about the BME of today's story.

We are working on ? marks and questioning strategies.  Who, What, Where, When and Why???

During read-a-loud we listened for the question words.  When we listed questions that we wanted to have answered as we read the text to solve a mystery.

Darrian Miller is this week's super star student.
A went outside and the story starter was " Once upon a time there was a perfect pumpkin in a field....
Mrs. Black's class and Ms. Tipton's class orally added key details to the story to come up with a creative pumpkin tall tale.   Ask you child to verbalize the story to you.
What a special treat!   Each 1st grade student received a free pumpkin today.   We want to say a very special thank you to Mrs. Greathouse's family for their donation of pumpkins.   We will be using the pumpkins in class for many purposes.

Here is the wagon that the Greathouse family  used to deliver the pumpkins to us.

We carefully cleaned the pumpkins to prepare them for our future lessons.

Don't forget to ask you child about what they are doing during the daily 5 center rotations.   Also, keep in mind that we are starting weekly reading clubs.  Each student is bringing home
a reading club bag. Their assigned day to return the work is listed on the front of the bag.  Each student has one week to read the enclosed book and complete the assignments.   Books should be read several times at home prior to returning them to school.
