4 Types of Sentences

We are learning about the 4 types of sentences.   Declarative, Exclamatory, Interrogative, and Imperative.  I have included examples of each.  We will be working on this Language Arts skill all week.

We are using the Mo Williams books to locate the different types of sentences.

Today we had two student readers.  Jake Scarbrough and Abby Sparrow.  They both did a very nice job reading with expression and fluency.

We are assessing each student's current Developmental  Reading level. ( DRA)  Mimi is completing the written portion of her assessment.
Ms. Prather and Ms. Tipton as assessing children on basic sight words too.

Reading teams are meeting daily.  Ask your child about the books that they read today.

Mimi received her recognition award for participating in the KET Young Authors contest.

Eber is now 7.  We celebrated his birthday today.    Happy Birthday Eber.
Students are working on a different math bags with their partners.   The math bags include all skills that we have covered throughout First Grade.

The entire first grade will be participating in the talent show on May 29th.   We will preform at 1:00 and 6:00.  We would like to invite everyone to attend the talent show.  They will be having PTA SBDM  Elections on  that day also!
