Starting 2015 Right!

The student worked on a variety of calendar activities.  They worked in small groups to determine all the months of the year that had 31,30 and 29 days.

We looked for all the major holidays..
We talked about how many days are in a week, a month, and a year.   Also, how many hours are in a day and in a week.

We placed the months of the year in ABC order to the third letter.
We used the letters in "New Year's Day" to make new words.
Several students celebrated their 7th birthday over the break. Congratulations to Addie, Cameron, and Cayden for turning 7.

We want to thank Cameron and his family for giving each student a new book.  It was a wonderful gesture, and we enjoyed reading them in class.
Lily Perkins is the student of the week. We want to congratulate her on being a great role model for others to follow.
We are learning to identify shapes by their attributes.

Ms. McCarty taught our class about the importance of the bones in our bodies.
We are working hard to identify personal pronouns.

Our class used a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast Mrs. Huff and Ms. Tipton.
We are currently on chapter 6 in Charlotte's Web.
Don't forget that reading clubs are back in full swing.  Your child should be bringing home a weekly reading assignment and activity to complete.

Students recorded their weekly spelling words in their agendas for work on words.
We each made a page to Lily's class book, during writers workshop.

We learned a song about each shape and it's attributes.

We are enjoying our study of the Human Boday.
Today is Andrew Mann's birthday.  Happy 7th birthday to you!
