Shapes are Everywhere

In geometry, a dodecagon is a what?    Well, your child should now be able to describe this shape using attributes.  Ask them where we located this shape in our building.     



 It is any polygon with twelve sides and twelve angles.

We worked on short and long u words as part of our phonics lessons today.

 Cayden Clem is the student of the week.  Congratulate him when you see him. 


On Demand Writing activity for the day. 
 1st grade Opinion Letter

On Demand Writing Prompt: We have read so many books this year!  Here is a list of the books we have read this week:  Jack and the Beanstalk and Kate and the Beanstalk
Task: Write a letter to your teacher giving your opinion on which book was your favorite. Be sure to include two details specific to the book.  Also, Tell your teacher why she should read the book again with future students.   

 A huge thank you to Mr. Parritt for stopping by our room to assist our class.  He was one of the watch Dogs in our building today. 

 Ask you child about our 3D shape walk around the school.





 Students should now be able to identify: Sphere, cylinder, rectangular prism, pyramid and cone shapes.  .
