Phonics lessons for the upcoming week:   oa.ow
Spelling word list:   boat, coat, toad, coast, know, blow, tow, throw, show, grow, again, gone

Challenge words:   sparrow, throat

Cameron is one of the morning greeters for this month.  She meets the students at the front door with a smile on her face.

We will be making penguins.  I am asking each student to bring in an empty/clean two litter bottle and a laundry detergent cap.    We would love for a family to donate a pack of ALL white tube socks. We also need play sand for the bottle of each bottle.
We are using our arms to pound out the letters in our phonic words.   Ask your child to model this activity for you.

Ms. Crazy Kim stopped by to help reteach a group of students.    She worked with them on Geometric concepts.
The students attend a daily Boosterthon pep rally.

Here are the prizes that the students will earn as they accumulate Lap $$.  Remember every child can get a prize for simply logging on to funrun.com.

Take a look at our offices spaces. We use our folders during formative and summative assessments.  Today the students were assessed on their knowledge of conjunctions.

The Friday reading club read a book about how to make a snowflake.

They are learning to use text features and a table of contents.

Students were given an opportunity to improve their Chapter 5 assessment score.  Ms. Tipton gave the retest today. Test results will be sent home on Monday.
The students enjoyed a variety of geometric shape centers today. The centers allow for  hands on learning experiences and higher order thinking skills.

We want to thank our Boosterthon friends for stopping by Team Tipton and practicing  giving back to the community.   We enjoyed their enthusiastic version of Skippy B. Jones.

Ms. Tipton assessed each student individually today.  The students had to identify all plane and dimensional shapes.

Have a wonderful and safe weekend.  We will begin a Unit on Polar Animals next week. The study will be interdisciplinary.  If anyone has information about penguins let me know.   The code word to whisper to Ms. Tipton on Monday is rhombus.
