Nov. 19th Chapter 3 Math Assessments

Each child should be bringing home two assessment tests for review and parent signatures.  Please look over the Franklin County Assessments, discuss them with your child and sign and return them.  These assessments will become part of your child's working portfolio for the 1st grade.    Keep in mind that these assessments are benchmark tests for what the average 1st grade child should understand.  Ever child is working at their own developmentally appropriate level.    You can assist your child at home by practicing basic math facts daily and using compass learning as a tool to work on skills that are designed to meet individual growth and development of all Language Arts and Math skills.

Note: Please sign and return all assessments as soon as possible.

Don't forget that tomorrow is the day to stop by and pick up all items from our school fundraiser. You can pick up your purchases between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00 tomorrow.

Don't forget that will be presenting two plays on Nov. 25th at 11:10 A,M.    Mark your calendars and try and attend.  Feel free to join us for lunch too.   If anyone would like to assist with our Thanksgiving lessons after lunch, please let Ms. Tipton know about your availability.   We have a fun filled day of learning that will take place and we'd love to have some helping hands.

Take a look at a few of the activities that took place today:

We reviewed all the skills that were covered in Unit 3 Making Numbers to 10, prior to our Math assessment.

Nicholas Epperson celebrated his 7th birthday.  If you see him wish him a very Happy Birthday.
The Epperson family stopped by to eat lunch with Nicholas.   It was a special treat to have them return to our room following lunch,
Mrs. McCarty volunteered to come in and assist students with our reader's theater.    Students will be bringing home their highlighted parts over the weekend.  PLEASE ASSIST YOUR CHILD IN MASTERING THEIR SPEAKING PART.   Also, make sure that all scripts are returned to school on  Monday.

Today was our first "tie the John Wall tennis shoe assessment."    The following 1st graders have proved that they are master shoe tiers.  Congratulations to each of these students.
