Today the students learned about several text features and their importance to informational text.
Every student should be able to define, locate and use: table of contents, index and glossary.
Students worked in pairs to identify page number of specific topics in a magazine.
Then then showed me that they could use this knowledge to locate specific information within a book or magazine.
We are learning about Fact Families. We talked about how the numbers " All live in the same family." Ask your child to explain a fact family to you.
Several students applies their new fact family knowledge to mulitplication/division problems.
Cayden has join the shoe club. Please remind your child to let me know when they are ready to show me that they can tie their own shoes. We plan on a shoe reward party prior to Christmas Break.
Today's Literature book was Molly's Pilgrim. Ask your child to tell you about why Molly's mom considered herself a pilgrim- even though she was from Russia.
