First days in Team Tipton!

Meet Ms. Tipton and our class pet Alex.
Alex is a bearded dragon.  He is 8 years old.
On the first day the students got out their "jitters" by moving to the Tooty. Ta dance and making jitter juice.

Maddox started our full day in a new class by celebrating his 7th birthday.  If you see Maddox wish him  happy birthday.
We are learning about numbers to 10.  We learned  all the ways to add numbers to 10.  Ask your child to explain how we used Popsicle sticks to make number combinations to 10.

Daily calendar math is off to a great start.
On grandparents day we made special cards for our guests.   If your child needs assistance mailing the card to a relative that lives out of town, see Ms. Tipton for postage and an envelope.  We don't want any grandparent to miss out on this special card.
We will have snack at 9:30 each day.  Our class read aloud time is also during snack.  We would like to have volunteers to read to the class during this time.
We are working hard on identifying nouns.  We will continue working on this skill next week.

We started the daily five rotIons on Friday.   These students are at the writing center.

These students are working on  making words.

Small groups will meet with. Ms Tipton during the daily five rotations.  They will work in groups that are focusing on specific skills to help improve language arts skills.
M

Read to self is part of the daily rotations.  Students will learn  how to select books that are on their individual reading levels.

We will be posting photos on a regular basis to this blog site.  I hope to have permission to post everyone's photos soon!!
Thank you to every parent and grandparent that has assisted a student in making a smooth transition to a new classroom.
