Valentine's Day Celebration/Measurement

We have learned how to use the standard measurement device- the ruler.    We can measure to the inch and 1/2 inch.  The students have measured almost everything that is possible in the room.  It had to be 12 inches or less today.   Next week we will learn about yard/meter sticks, centimeters and how to use a tape measure.

We all have a special Valentine Coupon booklet.  We hope you enjoy the special things that your child has agreed to do to help you around the house.

Mrs. Mancuso planned a wonderful Valentine's celebration for our class. We want to send her a big Team Tipton thank you.  Everyone had a great time.  Also, a huge thank you to all the parents that volunteered and sent in $ and treats.  We couldn't have done it without you.
The boxes and bags we very creative.

The students all had an opportunity to design a special Valentine for a loved one.

How many words can you make out to the letters in Valentine's Day?  We made lots of words.

This is just one of the special treats that the children received today.   Ms. Roe really worked hard to make the celebration S'mores.
Ms. Fosson baked special heart shaped cookies for the party and Ms. Chavez  also sent in a special sweet treat.

Take a look at a few of the games we played today. Make sure you ask your child to describe the rules and how we played. Even the adults joined in on the fun.

Ms. Verba and Ms. Jimenez had to slip out prior to the picture being taken, but here are a few of the other volunteers that we want to thank for helping us today.

I hope you all enjoy our Valentine's Day and have a safe weekend.  Thank you for all the sweet treats, flowers and the star bucks gift card I received today.  I promise I won't eat all the candy at once.
