Measurement/ Research

After a week off, we are back in full swing of learning.  We are learning about non-standard and standard unit of measurement.    We have learned how to use a graph to compare and contrast the actual sizes of  various kinds of  penguins.

Students are learning how to use a tape measure.

They have examined a meter stick and a yard stick.
They even learned about that type of measurement tool a tailor would need.

We are learning about the two sounds that "y" makes.  1 syllable words
We are discovering that prefixes change the meaning of root words.

Students have begun their research projects.  Small groups of students are working to complete this informational text activity.  Today they used various tools to locate a real life photo of their kind of penguin,  They then completed the cover page of their folder.

We look forward to sharing our research knowledge with you all on March 6th at 11:15.
