Feb. 3-4

On Tuesday, the Boosterthon Ladies stopped by our room to remind the students to keep up the great work of gathering pledges.  Remember that students may start bringing in the $$ that where pledged to them on Friday.  We will collect the money until next Friday, Feb. 13th.
We are working on the "oo" phonic sound this week.  Assessment will be on Friday.

Each student had the opportunity to look through their work portfolios.  We are setting growth goals for the last 1/2 of the school year.

We earned a "Hat Day" reward for reaching the goal of an average of $15.00 per lap.   Here are the students that choose to participate in the hat reward.
Students should be able to tell you if Tack the Penguin is a Fiction or Non-Fiction book.  They recorded information that they found to prove their answers.
They worked in pairs to decide the information about penguins that was Fiction and Non-Fiction.

On Wednesday we read a new penguin book.  The students recorded information that the located in the story.
The text had all the characteristics of a Non-fiction text.   They compared Fiction text to non-fiction text.  We sang a song to learn the difference between the two types of text.
Students illustrated the song.

All the students had a fabulous time at the Run Run..  Make sure and ask you child to show you their record of how many laps they completed.  The Large stickers are adhered to the front cover of their agendas.
