UNOTE: tomorrow is share day. Students may bring a share item that can fit inside their backpack.
It will be an assessment day too. The students will take the phonics weekly spelling assessment, and Unit 4 Reading Assessment. The reading assessment will require students to read short passages and answer questions about each passage. RL.1.1, 1.3, 1.4 and L1.1d, L 1.1g , RI 1.8 are the standards that will be assessed.
Mrs. Sparks prepared a lesson to assist the students with tomorrow's assessment. The students enjoyed the "oo" phonics activities.

Student used fly swatters to located the "oo" words.
Then they utilized their reading skills to play the "I have " Who has?" game. Ask your child to explain how we use this game as a teaching/review tool.
We are working hard on Non-Fiction Text. Students are learning about the world maps and where penguins are found.
Students used the magnetic letters at the "work on words " station.
Every reading club worked hard this week.
We will spend one more day on place values and we will assess next week.
Students should all be able to use expanded notation.
Many of the students have moved on to the hundreds place. It is amazing to watch the students grow!!
