Money, Money Everywhere and Move up day

Although we are quickly approaching the end of the 2013-14 school year, we are still working hard everyday. Reading clubs are going strong.

Team Tipton members should all be able to identify coins and their values.

We played Money "scoot".  Students worked in pairs to add the total amount of money on each stick.  All values were different.

Rayyan was the featured reader last Friday.   He did a fabulous job reading to the class.
The Friday Count Down extra treat was popsicles.  It was a nice way to end a hot day.

Every first grade student wrote a letter to the "Future First Graders."   We also hosted Ms. Singletary's class for this activity.

Each Kindergarten student that visited first grade today went home with a special letter from the current first graders.

 .
Day 6 countdown was sidewalk chalk.  The students enjoyed this special treat

We are reviewing all math skills that we learned this year. Make sure you ask your child to show your their daily review sheet.
Today we played your have...$.00 VALUES.  What do I have?
Students had to total various coin values to determine their partners.

 Look, we found our matches...

It is so hard to believe that each one of your children will soon be a 2nd grader!  Please ask them about move up day.   They learned about a few of the learning opportunities that they will experience next year.
