Jeffrey is my son. He was a great help in getting ready for the new 2013-2014 students.
Alex is the class pet. He is a bearded dragon. He loves attending school and visiting with the children.
This is Mrs. Santalucia and her daughter MiMi. We want to send a special thanks out to their family for helping prepare our "O-fish-oly in 1st grade! " snack
We made Jitter Juice to help us get rid of any butterflies in our tummy. This tasty treat was not only fun to eat, but we used the poem to review punctuation marks, and rhyming words. Ask you child about their poetry binders and the activities that we completed with the poem.
Each day we took time for movement breaks. Ask you child to tell you about a couple of the songs that we sang and danced to this week. Getting up and moving is not only fun, but educational. Make sure they can sequence the events of the "Tootie Ta" song for you.
We graphed and interpreted the various ways that we all get home after school
The book Chrysanthemum is about a mouse that doesn't like her name. We completed lots of language arts and math activities after reading and watching this story.
Every child has a classroom job each week. Ask your child what job they had and have them describe their responsibilities. We enjoyed watching the pet monitors taking care of Alex.
Playground safety was discussed and we really enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Calendar math incredible equation time is a time to allow students the opportunity to grow. We really had some great math facts this week.
Have a great weekend!! Enjoy the beautiful weather. Don't forget to check this blog often. It will be your link to our classroom. Since you all can not be present in the room all day long, I like to post lots of pictures. This will help you enjoy our learning too!
